Terms and Conditions, Delivery Conditions and Returns Policy

Greens Supermarket - hereinafter referred to as “Greens” - is a family business (Trade No.60/762 & Trade No. 60/718). We trade from a three-storey premises situated at Tal-Ibrag Road, Tal-Ibrag (Swieqi, SWQ 2030). Greens are now offering its products for sale through its website – referred to as “The Site” and use of the Site is subject to Greens’ “Terms of Use” and “Trading Terms” set out below which together form the "Terms and Conditions". By using the Site, you will be accepting without limitation or qualification these Terms and Conditions. Should you disagree with these Terms and Conditions please discontinue immediately the use of this Site. Greens are committed to protecting your privacy - Please read through our Privacy Policy listed with these terms. Greens reserve the right to update the Terms and Conditions of this Site at any time. Access to any update will be listed on new Terms and Conditions on the Site’s home page. The new Terms and Conditions will take immediate effect and will govern all transactions with Greens through the use of the Site. Should you disagree with the new Terms and Conditions please discontinue immediately the use of the Site. Greens reserve the right to suspend or cancel a customer's access to any or all of the services provided by Greens should it result that the account has been inappropriately used. You also have the right to request blocking or erasure of data which has been processed unlawfully. The customer’s statutory rights are not affected by these Terms and Conditions. Customers may request deletion of their account by sending an email addressed to admin@greens.com.mt.

Sales Policy

Preventing Underage Purchases of Alcoholic Beverages. 

  • Purchases of alcoholic beverages by anyone below the age of 17 years is strictly not allowed. 
  • When creating an account, Customers will be asked to provide a valid date of birth to verify their age. 
  • All deliveries require an adult's signature. 

Age Restrictions

It is an offence to attempt to buy a product if you are under the required age. The offence applies also to any third party attempting to purchase any product on behalf of an under-aged Site user.  

Customers placing orders for the purchase of products on the Site, confirm that they are of the appropriate age to receive and use the specified product so ordered. Any customer ordering a product to be delivered to a third party will be accepting the responsibility that the intended recipient of the order is of the appropriate age to receive and use the product so ordered. Greens reserve the right not to supply any age-restricted product where we reasonably believe that a customer is below the relevant minimum age.

Payments

Payments for online purchases need to be finalized by either one of the following methods: 

GPRS POS - Pay with your card when we get your delivery at your door.  

Cash on Delivery - Pay using cash when we get your delivery at your door  (Available only in Gozo). 

Online Payment via Credit/Debit Cards - This requires entering your card information within our payment page to be able to process the order. BOV Cash Link Card, HSBC Quick Cash Card, APS Premier Card, VISA Cards, MasterCard Cards.

Transaction processing explained:

  1. Upon confirmation of your order, a Pre-Authorisation of the total amount of your Order Summary is put on hold in your account. It is important to point out that this pre-authorisation is NOT a transaction but merely an authorisation for the funds. These funds are frozen i.e. put on hold by the card issuer for a short period, this however will never be withdrawn from your account. 
  2.  Upon closing your order, you will receive your receipt the amount on the receipt is withdrawn as a transaction from your account. Please note that there might be a slight discrepancy between these 2 figures due to weighted items in your order and/or replacement items.

Please note that in a small number of cases, some card issuers may hold the full pre-authorisation amount for an extended period of time (usually 3-10 days). These funds will NOT be taken from your account and are not held by Greens Supermarket. 

 In the case of third-party card companies for example Revolut, please note that these can take from 7 to 10 days for the transactions to be reconciled and cleared. The timing may differ as it depends on the issuer of the card.

Prices 

The prices quoted on Greens Supermarket's Portal are resale prices and the quality of the products is guaranteed. The prices and offers on the website do not necessarily reflect the prices in our supermarkets. The pricing of the website is occasionally independent of that of the supermarket and we may decide to make any extra special offers on the website and not in the supermarkets and vice versa. 

Whilst every care is taken to ensure correct pricing online, including but not limited to updating pricing daily, the actual amount charged upon delivery might be different from the one shown online especially due to stock price fluctuations upon which we have no control. We only charge for products delivered. All quotes prices are VAT inclusive.

The offers that are advertised on the Greens leaflet are only applicable during the duration of the stipulated dates on the leaflet. When placing an order it is important to choose a delivery date which falls within the dates of the leaflet otherwise the offers would have expired and will be charged at a normal price. The offers are timebound and update automtically on the system, therefore our members of staff do not have acess and are not able to amend the prices.

Weighted Items

Exact weight for certain sold products like meat, delicatessen items, fruit and vegetables are extremely difficult to match exactly as per the order received. While we will try to obtain the nearest weight possible as per customers’ orders we, however, retain the right to charge for the exact weight made out and delivered.

Quality

If for any reason customers are not satisfied with the quality of products delivered please return the goods to Greens Supermarket at the address quoted on the contact page for full credit. 

Kindly produce your delivery receipt as proof of purchase.

Delivery

Delivery service is available to all customers ordering via our website. All orders are concluded in English. 

Deliveries are done in all locations in Malta and Gozo (Comino not included). 

Please note that all the products will be delivered to you in temperature-controlled delivery vans to make sure that the products arrive at your premises fresh.   

Kindly note that a delivery and service charge of €7 will apply to the order placed be below €75.00. This charge applies to all localities.  

When making online purchases, a fee of  €5  will be applied to any order exceeding €75.This charge applies to all localities.

An extra €5 charge applies to all deliveries which are not on the Ground floor and do not have a lift in the building. 

Orders placed through Click and Collect will be subject to a charge of €2.50 euros for each submitted order. 

The minimum order that a user can place is that of €20.00.

Deliveries will be carried out from Monday to Sunday (Public Holidays Included) between 8:00 am to 11:59 pm with the exception of Good Friday, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. 

Deliveries will be done according to the timeslot chosen by the customer. Timeslots are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Website Stock Management

We do our best to ensure that our stock is managed and maintained so that the website is up to date, however, given that we constantly have instore shopping as well as online shopping taking place, some stock levels will not be a true representative of stock available.    

When you place your order, we will ask if you would like us to substitute an alternative similar product if your chosen products are not in stock at the time, we dispatch your order. If you do and when you receive your order, you are still not happy with the substitution, please let us know as soon as you can so that we may handle this in accordance with these terms and conditions.

Returns

If the client would wish to return any item purchased for whatever reason, he/she may do so by returning the goods at our outlet Greens Supermarket with the receipt. From there onwards, the shop return policy will take place, hence by a credit note. Greens Supermarket Ltd Return Policy differs from product to product. This is due to the wide range of items that are in stock. Return Policies for fresh products differ from those of the condiments. For items to be returned to Greens Supermarket Ltd they have to be in their original form, with all original labels and seals attached and intact. 

Greens Supermarket Ltd will not accept any perishable products after 3 days of the purchase date and if they are not kept in their respective optimum temperature. Other Products can be returned with 15 days in their original form. 

If an item is faulty then we will meet our legal obligations which will be of providing credit, provided that the item is returned within a reasonable time with proof of purchase. 

Credit will be deducted on your next online order, or in the case of instore shopping you are kindly asked to visit the customer care desk for a refund. Receipt must be presented for Creit Notes to be given and redeemed. 

Loyalty Points

Kindly note that during Sale period outlets within the scheme have the right to give the value of the product with Original Price Value should the client choose to redeem the vouchers during a sale period. 

Vouchers from Ultimate are redeemable only on De Lunghi range.

Loyalty Scheme Products

Please note that while most products qualify for the loyalty scheme, some low-profit items do not. These products primarily include alcohol, bread, fruits and vegetables, and local milk products. Additionally, some of the items on offer are not eligible for points.

Website Maintenance

There might be certain periods whereby parts or all website may not be available due to maintenance work. Pre advance notice will be given to customers through the Site. Should a customer have any difficulty in the use of the website please contact us via e-mail at admin@greens-supermarket.com. It could result, that sometimes the site or part thereof may not be available to circumstances beyond our control. We apologize for any inconvenience this could cause.  

Greens, in conjunction with its IT service provider, have ensured that all appropriate security measures possible have been implemented on this Site. Payments via Credit Cards are made through a highly secure payment gateway approved by the local banks.

Promotions & Offers

Greens Supermarket reserves the right to launch competitions, offers and/or promotions which may be applicable exlusively to online and/or instore shoppers at any given time. The operations and pricing of products on the website is occasionally independent to that of the phsyical supermarket. 

Elderly People Scheme

We will help you SAVE more with Greens Supermarket and Little Greens

  • To qualify for the discount, present your Loyalty Card in person along with a valid Maltese ID card at our customer care desk in any of our main outlets Swieqi, Imriehel(Quad) and Gozo. 
  • The application will take anything between 24 hours to 72 hours to be approved. 
  • The Karta Anzjan discount is valid for one year which can be renewed upon presentation of a valid ID card presented in-store by the account holder, during the above opening hours, or POA holder. 
  • Once approved, you must show your Loyalty Card and Identification document during each purchase to apply the discount . 
  • The discount is limited to one Loyalty Card per household. 
  • Misuse of the card may result in account termination pending further review. 
  • A 2.5% discount will be applied to the total bill, with a monthly discount limit of €250. 
  • In-store promotional offers of €33 and €66, remain valid when the Karta Anzjan discount is applied, subject to the following conditions:  
    1. The offer is reached after the discount is applied to the total amount of the final bill .
    2. If the total bill, after applying the Karta Anzjan discount, falls below €33/€66/€99  in-store, the respective offers will not apply. To qualify for the offers, the final total must meet or exceed €33/€66/€99 in-store.
  • If applying on behalf of an elderly individual, legal authorization (POA) must be provided, along with valid ID cards for both the elderly person and the representative. 
  • The Karta Anzjan discount does not apply to purchases of mobile phone cards or tobacco products. 
  • The discount is limited to a maximum monthly purchase of €250 per cardholder.
